Taking place during April Vacation week, School of Groove will be hosting an impromptu, middle of the spring, music camp. April 19-24, 2010. We know that with summer coming up, you need to save up for summer camp, so we’re not going to break the bank with this camp. Also, we’ve structured the camp so that beginners AND advanced students can attend.
This week-long rock camp will feature the music of Led Zeppelin. Classes will run from 9am-4pm daily, Monday-Friday. Early drop off will be available from 9am, and late pick up will be available until 6pm. Students may attend morning classes only, or morning and afternoon classes.
Morning classes will include: Instrument Lab, Styles Class, Rock History (appropriate for all levels)
Afternoon classes will include: Ensemble, Composition Class (appropriate for intermediate/advanced students)
In contrast to summer camp, this camp will be focusing on the music of rock icon, Led Zeppelin. Students will learn:
-Performance style of Led Zeppelin
-History of the group
-Developing styles within the band
-Compositional techniques
-Led Zeppelin repertoire
Students will also work in rehearsals coached by Led Zeppelin cover bands, and will participate in a final end of week performance.
