Saturdays. 2:30-3:30pm
(April 17-June 5)
Recording technology has come a long way in recent years, but the principles of signal flow, microphone techniques, mixing, and making quality recordings remain the same. The Music Technology course will cover the science of sound waves, live sound and recording using computer based audio workstations. Topics will include microphone techniques, operating a mixing board and recording, mixing, and editing using music software. Students will participate in the setup of recording sessions, record their performances on the instrument of their choice and will see a recording project through from beginning to end. Ultimately, the students will leave this course with a fully produced CD.
