Adam Calus

Guitar/Bass/Piano/Voice/Drums

Adam CalusI am currently a Music Education student at Berklee College of Music, also studying Jazz Composition. I grew up in the Midwest in a town near Detroit, MI called Fowlerville. While attending high school in the ninth grade I started my own small business called Adam’s Music Lessons. When I graduated high school I had around twenty students whose homes I traveled to, to teach them music.

I am a guitar player but am also practiced on Bass, Piano, Drums, Voice, French Horn, Trumpet and teach in all styles including Blues, Jazz, and Classic Rock to name a few. When I teach I strive for all of my students to get the best educational experience possible. I like to teach by this principle:

“Teaching music should be about 2 things: The core principles of playing & the style(s) the student wishes to write or perform in. I try very hard with all of my students to make sure that what I know are the key elements to playing as well as what interests the student most in music are brought to the table in each session.”

Some of my musical training and accomplishments are as follow:

-President of Adam’s Music Lessons in Detroit, MI for five years.

-President of S.I.C.K Records LTD. In Detroit, MI for five years.

-Head Drum Major of FHS marching band for three years.

-Studied at SWC drum major clinics for three years.

-Multiple performances in clubs and venues around Royal Oak, MI and Detroit, MI.

-Acceptance to Berklee College of Music on scholarship currently studying Music Education and Jazz Composition.
