Year of the Rock Opera (July 5-31)
In 2010 we will be pioneering a new type of rock camp. By audition only, this camp will bring together the best of the best students of rock. Campers will work together in a band to prepare, yes, a rock opera. For those of you who are wondering what this is, think, Pink Floyd’s, The Wall…or Tommy, by the Who. Our campers will be working on something just a bit more…interesting, let’s say. THE ODYSSEY, BY SYMPHONY X! A true shredders dream!
Students will record every week, and will prepare a full music video. Please take note that these are professionally produced recordings and videos, not just what normally passes for kid’s recordings. Students will also perform each week, with a final culminating performance at an outdoor venue (did somebody say Hatch Shell?) with local guest artists.
